He married twice. He married ??? before 1765.⁽⁴⁰⁾ The name of Antoine's first wife is not known. The only reason we know she existed is because Antoine is listed as a widower on his marriage certificate to Susannah Holland.

??? died before May 1765.⁽⁴¹⁾ He married Susannah HOLLAND in Bedford County, Virginia, 2 May 1765.⁽⁴²⁾ Susannah was born in Lunnenburg County (?), Virginia about 1740.⁽⁴³⁾ Susannah was the daughter of Peter HOLLAND and Mariah DIGGINS.

He married Elizabeth ??? in Cumberland or Bedford County, Virginia, about 1770.⁽⁴⁷⁾ Elizabeth was born in Virginia about 1750.⁽⁴⁸⁾ Elizabeth died 17 November 1828 in Lynchburg, Lynchburg County, Virginia, at 78 years of age.⁽⁴⁹⁾

Elizabeth was listed as a widow of Littleberry Epperson on 10 July 1750 in William Lindsay Hopkin's book, Campbell County, Virginia Wills and Inventories: 1782-1847.

The connection of Littleberry as the grandson of Thomas Epperson is an important genealogy event. Littleberry's line had been one of the many dead ended lines that could not be linked to the master family tree. Connection to Thomas Epperson links Littleberry's line to the original Epperson family in America.

The connection was made by Christine Wertin. In her own words, this is how she established the link.

The starting point of my research was written down, about 1930, by my grandmother, (Mary Eliza Delaney Epperson, b. 1874). She had dates and places back to Littleberry Epperson, born 1805. I confirmed some of the info with Census, birth, marriage, death records and the Chitwood-Epperson Family Bible. It is impossible to document all the things she wrote down because either it was before records were made in the areas they were living or court houses burned. My grandmother died in 1952 and I feel that she got a lot of her information from a family bible as her husband was the eldest son. But my mother was their youngest child and she doesn't know what happen to the family bible. My grandmother filled out the information on forms made for ones family history.

As for the tie in of Thomas>William, b. 1708>Littleberry b. about ]738, the Littleberry part was not very difficult, but the Thomas/William connection is one of those times when the pieces seem to fit and I took the leap. First, Jack Bellville sent to me:

"Abstracts of Cumberland County, Virginia Court Order Books from June 1749 to May 1756". It said, "Ordered that the Church Wardens of King William Parish bind out Littleberry Epperson, Son of William Epperson, It appears that William neglects to take proper care of Littteberry" dated 23 February 1756.

And somewhere else, I don't remember where: Cumberland County records: "1751 - Church Wardens of Southam Parish bind out Littleberry Epperson and Elizabeth Epperson"

So then I knew who Littleberry's father was. That sat for awhile, then I realize that there was a William Epperson that fit and that was "William son of Thomas & Elizabeth Epperson baptized ye 20th of June, 1708."

Anthony owned a slave woman named Jin. In his will he granted her freedom when she reached the age of twenty-one.

According to the obituary, H. E. lived in Browning, Missouri. We believe H. E.'s middle name is Elias because we know Pendleton owned a business with a brother named Elias in Durham County, California.

E. and one sister, Mrs. J. C. Guinn. Since Susan was the only daughter of Silas and Nancy Epperson, she had to be Mrs. Guinn. Susan lived in Browning, Missouri.

Pendleton Marcus EPPERSON was born in Missouri 02 October 1859.⁽²⁵⁹⁾ Pendleton died 07 July 1919 in Nevada City, Nevada County, California, at 59 years of age.⁽²⁶⁰⁾ He married Nannie Ellen SCOGGINS. Pendleton arrived in California about 1885. Pendleton along with his brother, Elias, were druggists at "Epperson Brothers Hotel and Druggists", in Durham County, California. In 1900 Pendleton was residing at Middle Creek, California and from 1906-1919 he was a feed merchant in Nevada City, California.⁽²⁶²⁾
